I often think hard and long about the things that have transpired in my life. Some were the result of decisions I made and others I had no control over. I find this to be true at certain times and seasons I face—the months leading to my birthday and at the beginning of a new year.
This reflection sometimes brings sadness and other times satisfaction. The satisfaction I may feel—even though not every day, is the decision I made to allow the Lord in my heart.
Let me share something with you. I must admit that God hit the bullseye when He decided to send His Son Jesus to earth and then die on a cross for our sins. Now I believe that the Holy scriptures are true and things happened just as they are recorded in the Word of God.
What would my life be right now had God not hit the target with His plan to save us from ourselves. I say the bullseye to describe just how perfect His plan really was. He knew that we needed a way to be reconciled back to him after the evil deeds we’d do. So, the Bible says that He sent His only “begotten” Son to earth to one day die on a cross to save our souls—paving the way for life everlasting with Him for all who believed in His Son, Jesus the Christ.
Although I don’t always feel saved and or do everything right—I’m grateful that God put in place a perfect plan and that I decided to believe in that plan for my life. “Bullseye”—I finally did something right! The bible declares , paraphrasing, that God caught the evil forces in this world off guard with His plan. How truly awesome He is. Paul says had the princes of this world known they would not have crucified the Lord of glory—”Bullseye”! (1 Corinthians 2:8). Their evil worked together for our good!
God had the perfect plan for saving our souls back in Bible days and now. Evil will always be around as long as human hearts remain wicked. But all can decide to yield to God’s perfect plan for their lives. God hit the Bullseye with the plan—why not hit the “bullseye” with inviting Him into your heart—and then letting Him remain there forever. (Read John 3:16 and Romans 10:9-13 KJV)
