† Get Back Up

An infant can’t do very much for himself.  No, he relies solely on his parent for everything. He cries when he’s hungry, when he’s wet, and even when he’s sleepy.  A good parent will run to their child’s rescue and bring with them the necessary things they’ll need to make it all better.  When the infant grows and is now in the toddler stage of life, he begins to repeat the words he’s heard, he soon stops crawling and begins to walk.

A good parent never takes their eyes off of him but gives him the space he needs to learn.  While he’s trying to find his way through life at walking, sometimes he trips and falls.  He then cries out for help.  He may need help to get back up again, or he may cry out for attention.  He might cry to ease the pain he may have suffered during his fall.  Either way, a good and loving parent will dust him off, dress his boo-boo with a band aide and tell him it’s okay—as he helps him up.

Falling is not a crime—nor is it an unforgiveable sin.  In fact, The Bible says even the righteous fall sometimes.  The difference is—a godly person will seek forgiveness and get back up again, no matter how many times it takes for him to get things right. They don’t waddle in their mistake, in their accident, or in their failure.  No, they cry out to the Lord and allow Him to help them up.  In other words—they “Get Back Up”, remembering that yes, even though I fell—I’m “Still Saved”!  (Read Proverbs 24:16 NLT)
