I have had several episodes of not feeling well throughout my life and sometimes it has gotten so bad, I felt as if I was going to die. If it continued to get worse, I ‘d muster-up enough strength to go and see the specialist. After my visit he would prescribe the medication he thought would help me feel better. Sometimes they worked right away and gave my immune system the boost it needed, while the illness finished running its course.
Now, I’m the type of person who hates taking medication of any form. But when you’re not feeling well—you’ll do whatever it takes to bring the quickest relief. Unless of course you’re one of those people who prefer to be pampered and will continue to milk the situation for what it’s worth.
The only thing I like about having to take medication is I can take a pill with a tiny sip of water and continue to relax, sleep, or watch television. However, there are some medications that require you to shake well before taking the required dose. The formula needs to be mixed together to receive the full strength. Mixing redistributes the needed particles that have not dissolved or have settled at the bottom. If the dose is taken without mixing first, you may only receive flavored liquid instead of the complete medicated dose.
There are also times when we may not be feeling well because of emotional baggage or weight. I am a firm believer that as it is in the natural—it can also be the same in the spirit. When we’re not feeling well, down in the dumps, can’t see our way through, and are struggling just to make it to another day, it’s time to visit the Specialist. You can tell Him all about your issues and allow Him to prescribe for you the perfect dose that’s needed to heal what’s ailing you. Sometimes it’s a kind word from a friend or a smile from a stranger as they walk by.
The Bible encourages us to stir up the gifts within us. In other words, we need to pull from the good things God has placed deep down inside of us. Sometimes when we go through life and we experience the sting of its wrath, we naturally have a tendency to be drained of the good within us. We have a desire to be left alone to drown in our sorrows. But that won’t heal you. It only prolongs your deliverance. But if you take the time to “Stir it Up”—you will feel better. Why bother? Because I can guarantee you someone needs what the trials of life have successfully suppressed the good that you have deep within you. When you “Stir it Up”, you become the medicine someone else needs.
It’s time to “Shake it Off”—and “Stir it Up!” God doesn’t want us walking around feeling bad or drained of the very substance He planted within us. No. He wants us to share the wealth with others—so they can feel better too. Don’t give up—it’s time to Shake It Off and Stir It Up! God is waiting to use you to help someone who is in need of what you truly have!. (Read 1 Samuel 30:1-8; 18-19)
