Are there times you wished you’d never opened your mouth? Rather it be to help someone or to explain something. My answer would be YES!
My family and I had a New Year’s celebration at my house this year. When it was coming to a close, we went around the room telling three things we were thankful for. One of mine was being thankful for my job and being able to move around in there doing what I needed to do without some health things that I deal with sometimes. No sooner than I got to work the next day it seemed as though I could barely move around my desk without circumstances and immediately my mind went to “what I said I was thankful for”. The first thing out of my mouth was “I should have kept my mouth closed”.
I say this to me and to anyone else who thinks like that. Don’t stop giving God praise because it will make someone or the devil mad. We are supposed to give God glory and praise in all things. No matter what we see, hear and or feel. I wrestle with that daily because I do believe in God, His Son and His Spirit and all the power He possesses, but I often get stuck in what I see and feel.
God has separated, fixed and upheld me and you from a lot of things and more things will surely come. So don’t get frustrated and stop praying and believing, open your mouth. The devil wants you angry and disappointed in what you think God hasn’t done. The truth of the matter is we are getting mad at the only one who cares and who can actually help. So, you hurt yourself when you do that. Be still, humble yourselves, ask for forgiveness, and pray and praise Him; give God what God deserves, and, in the end, you will get what you need and more.
When you want to praise God for something, praise Him. Shout, Shout—Let it All Out. It’s true God knows you and knows how you feel, but I would ask this one question. Don’t you love an appreciative thanks when you’ve done something for someone. So does God. May God continue to bless you, your brother in Christ…TMK.
