The earth is the Lord’s and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. (Psalm 24:1) What an awesome thing to remember when chaos is all around. Sometimes I don’t feel like God is present, but my heart hopes everyday I’m allowed to wake-up to another day—that things will get better.
Think on this for a minute—if you will. It’s easy to compare God to man when things get challenging, and folks are doing all kinds of things that they know deep down in their hearts it’s wrong. But just because people are cutting-up both left and right—doesn’t mean that God is not here. In actuality, people have free will and that means they can choose to do what they want to do and when they want to do it.
What would this world be like if God was not around? Think about it. What would life be like from day to day—if God, heaven forbid, disappeared and left us to our own devices? I believe things would be ten times worse than what they are right now. I believe folks would operate in more hate and selfishness, that we would barely make it through. The thought of God not being in my life is frightening.
Seems like the older I get, the more I value the life I have been blessed to live so far. Every new day I wake up, is proof that God is still taking care of me and all who place their hope in Him. We may not have everything we want, and we may have challenging days here and there, but one thing I am sure of—God has not forsaken this world. As disappointed as He might be with the choices and lifestyles we’ve decided to live, I believe He’s still watching over each of us.
It’s time to appreciate all that He does in this world. It’s time for us to focus our sights on seeking to see Him moving in the midst of everything going on—realizing that people will always be people, whether we like it or not. God loves mankind so much that He waits patiently for His children to live their life’s for His glory.
No matter what you see or witness in this world today—don’t forget God is still in control and the earth still belongs to Him. He cares about the things we face, and I’m convinced that He knows what He’s doing and all will be well. So, hang in there and never lose sight of God’s power on this earth!
