There are time in everyone’s life that it feels like what could go wrong—has gone wrong. Through no fault of your own things are coming at you with a vengeance. I have definitely lived through times like those. Whether it be an illness or a situation on the job or even an issue within the family, it can truly be tough to make it through.
The longer we live the more we will experience. It can even feel as though it won’t ever let up. Sort of like “When It Rains—It Pours”. If you have not experienced it yet—keep on living. I don’t say that to be insensitive to what you may be experiencing, but to let you know that you’re not alone. Everyone goes through that feeling at least once it their life. How we deal with it is most important.
There are seasons that come and go year after year. In the winter it’s cold and dreary. The grass and other plants look as though they are dead and will never live again. Then the spring shows up and with it comes lots of rain and sunshine, and before you know it—what looked dead is now alive again.
I recall one of my favorite scriptures in the Bible. It says, “When the enemy comes in like a flood; the Spirit of the Lord will lift a standard against him”. This brings me hope. Why? Because it lets me know that there will be times when things come at me—to overwhelm me –like a flood would if I let it. But if I change my perspective from what I see, I will remember that the Lord will fight on my behalf. That means no matter how much is coming at me—I have an advocate in the Lord who is willing to go to war on my behalf.
I encourage you today that “Come Hell or High Water”—push through whatever is coming at you, remembering, it may rain, it may pour—but The Lord will fight for you. Be strong and place your hope in The Lord and not in what’s currently pouring on you! Tell the enemy today, whether it rains or pours, “Come Hell or High Water it’s not over. The Lord will fight for me! (Read Isaiah 59:19 and 2 Chronicles 20:15)
