† So, you Messed Up

Anyone who’s trying to live a peaceful life at being a good and respectful person, usually doesn’t wake up every morning planning to be the opposite.  Usually, they plan their day out ahead of time and work towards the end they’ve laid out for themselves.  I believe there’s nothing wrong with trying to do or be your best.

When it comes to succeeding at being a Christian, it can be a tad bit tricky. Because we are human—we are not perfect, and because we are not perfect—we will mess up from time to time, even when our hearts are aimed at doing the right thing.  The important thing is to pick yourself up and try again. Sitting around feeling bad or guilty for not getting it right or for messing up,  doesn’t help us reach our goal any better.  It actually can make us stop trying.

Salvation is not built on doing everything right.  It’s achieved by receiving God’s love—even when we’re wrong, and feel we’ve messed up.  Going to God in prayer and sharing with Him how you feel about what happened, actually shows that you care, and you’re trying.  He will forgive you when you ask in sincerity.  God doesn’t look at us with a judgmental and critical eye, instead He wants to help us reach our goal and His destiny.

“So, you Messed Up”—but you’re “Still Saved”.  Pardon yourself from the commendation and guilt that you have already charged to yourself and try harder the next time.  God understands this journey is challenging for His people, but what He really seeks is a heart that wants to please Him, and if that be the case with you—cheer-up, and remember, you’re “Still Saved”. (Read Romans 8:1 KJV)
