† Keep it Moving

Not too many people are unfamiliar with the things that Moses and the Israelites went through on their journey out of Egypt, to the land that God had promised them.  A land of plenty, a land of freedom, and a land flowing with milk and honey. The hour of their deliverance had finally come for them, after spending over 400 years in bitter bondage, as slaves to the King of Egypt.  I imagine excitement filled the air and anticipation of a new life for generations to come—led them out of Egypt into the wilderness.  Not knowing what would become of them, nor how long the journey would be—they trusted God’s servant and took all they had with them, to leave the past behind.  But the journey wasn’t as cut and dry as they would have preferred.  The first obstacle they ran into was a huge test of their faith in God’s ability to care for them and carry them through.

You know the story; Pharoah’s Army was following hard after them and they were now trapped at the Red Sea with no way to continue in sight.  Not only was there water, as far as their eyes could see, frustration and fear flooded their minds and they began to murmur and complain, while accusing Moses of causing them the leave Egypt to die in the wilderness of their journey.

There will be times in our lives and while on our journeys that we will not always know exactly what God is doing or why He has chosen to allow things to play out like they have.  It is in those times—Come Hell or High Water—we must press on to see what the end will be.  We can’t give in, give out, or even quit when things don’t appear to be working in our favor.  No—we must trust that we heard God and that we are right where He has led us to be and Come Hell or High Water—He has a plan that will deliver us right in the nick of time. God told Moses to stretch forth his rod and with a blast of the Lord God’s nostrils—the sea divided, and the Israelites walked forward on dry land. When you find yourself in trying times and in situations that don’t appear will work out in your favor—trust God and come Hell or High Water fight through it, knowing that God can and will deliver you!  (Read Exodus 15)
